Enlarge One of the many likings of King Tut Students visited the King Tut exhibit in Houston recently. Ann Boland, art instructor, accompanied 54 Panola College students on a field trip to the Houston Museum of Fine Arts to see the King Tut exhibit on November 10th, 2011. Adjunct faculty members Jack and Sandy Bartlett were also on the trip. The students' favorite exhibits included King Tut's bed, which was very short and in great condition, the canopic jars that held the internal organs of the dead, and the golden sandals of the child king. Boland said, "It was amazing to see artifacts that have lasted over 3,000 years." Students participating in the day-long activity include Seth Adams, Kaitlin Allen, Maria Almaguer, Jordan Anderson, Richard Anderson, Kady Armstrong, Brewer Boland, Gabrielle Bradford, Christian Cauther, Robert Caston, Assuntay Cleaver, Sara Corley, Travis Corley, Robyn Corshia, Evidelia Cruz, Paula Dearing, John Farmer, Casey Fike, Danielle Fry, Taylor Gates, Brittany Gatlin, Milli Haga, Carly Hedlund, Karen Kiper, Logan Landtroop, Jessica Liles, Reagan Link, Joanna Martel, Luis Martinez, Shatasha McCowan, Jessica Nichols, Robin Perry, Justin Pierce, Robert Poindexter, Stacy Poindexter, Ashlee Ray, Cedetric Robertson, De'Aaron Roland, Terrence Roquemore, Christian Simmons, Camryn Sisk, Rayven Swadley, Giles Virgin, LaToyia Wade, James Walker, Brandon Weaver, Christi Weaver, Tina Weaver, Staci Weaver, Allison Welborn, Raven Williams, Roshundra Wilson, and driver, Mike Morrison. Mrs. Boland expressed appreciation to the Panola College Foundation for the grant that made this trip possible, and Randy Graves from Student Activities for helping with addition funding for the trip. |
