Nationally renowned actor, Timothy Mooney, to perform at Panola

The Pool Foundation will bring Shakespeare to Carthage on January 31.

Tim Mooney, renowned actor and impersonator, will perform a one-man show highlighting the greatest lines from Shakespeare's plays. His free performance starts at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 31 in the Q.M. Martin Auditorium.

"Tim Mooney’s Lot o’ Shakespeare" will be open to the public. No admission will be charged for this special event because of generous underwriting from the Lewis H. Pool Foundation.

In a dazzling display of memorization and characterization, Tim Mooney has memorized one monologue from every Shakespeare play, capturing the most stirring speeches, the most outrageous situations, the most wicked double-entendres, and the most delicious sonorous soliloquies ever to emerge from Shakespeare’s pen! The genius of Shakespeare comes to life in passionate scenes of action, character and power!

“Mooney’s performances are literate, enthusiastic, and athletic, bounding from Shakespeare’s hilarious comedies, to his passionate tragedies, to his epic histories. Audiences everywhere have been astonished to discover just how contemporary, vivid and playfully fulfilling these plays are.

This past summer, Lot o’ Shakespeare was a hit at the Orlando Fringe Festival. Reviews exclaimed “Flat out riveting.” (TheDailyCity.com). “His St. Crispin’s Day speech made me want to take up arms with him.” (Orlando Sentinel). And in Minnesota, the audience review site was exclaimed “Expressive, funny, intelligent… makes the language and the stories come alive in a rare way,” and “A one-man dynamo!”

The Pool Foundation has supported the College in offering the “Master Teacher Series” since 2006. Master teachers are leaders in their respective fields. Students benefit from the unique opportunity to meet and talk with these individuals who can provide students with insights about the fields they wish to pursue.
