Enlarge Tommy Taylor, Cortnie Robbins, Jeremy Vos, Alicia Fast, Carrie Shick, What do Jerry Springer, a talking cow, and Hamlet have in common? They all are characters in Panola College’s upcoming production of I Hate Shakespeare! by Steph DeFerie. The audience gets a rip-roaring rundown of Shakespeare’s classics that serves as a hilarious introduction to Shakespeare – with a modern twist. This fast-paced comedy features a cast of nine talented student actors who play 44 characters, according to Clay Grizzle, theatre instructor and director. Appearing in the play are sophomores Jeremy Vos, a graduate of Neches High School; Donald Bennett a graduate of MacArthur High School in Irving; Carrie Shick and Cortnie Robbins, graduates of Wills Point High School; and Alicia Fast of New Diana High School. Freshmen in the cast are Cameron Banks, a graduate of Texas High School in Texarkana; Robert Morris from Marcus High School in Flower Mound; Kourtney Norman of Elysian Fields High School; and Tommy Taylor of Gary High. The production runs Thursday through Saturday, April 28-30. The performances begin at 7 p.m. and cost only $5.00 for the public. If you have questions or need more information, call 903.693.2064. |
