Panola College Chorale is under new direction. Enlarge Sandrabauer Sandra Bauer, an Arkansas native, earned her Bachelor of Music Education from Centenary College of Louisiana and her Master of Music from SFA. She directed choirs in San Angelo, Shreveport, and most recently at Carthage High School. Students under her direction have been invited to sing for the Inauguration of Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco, at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., and at Disney World. “We’re starting the year off with a bang,” says Bauer. She has scheduled two concerts for Saturday, September 10 and Sunday, September 11. The Community Civic Center in Carthage will host “One Nation Under God,” sponsored by Panola County Conservatives, Saturday Sept. 10, where U.S. Representative Louie Gohmert will speak, introduced by Wayne Christian, Texas State Representative. The Panola College Chorale will join with Kilgore College in a memorial tribute to 9-11 and in honor of U.S. military troops. The East Texas Remembers 9/11 Concert will start at 6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 11. This concert will feature one hundred and fifty singers including Panola College and Kilgore College chorales, full orchestra, children’s choir, vocal soloists, along with greetings from state dignitaries. The free concert will take place at the Dodson Auditorium, Kilgore College and is sponsored by the Kilgore Chamber of Commerce.
