Ponies bow out of Region Playoffs
The Panola
Ponies faced #1 seed San Jacinto at the Region XIV
Tournament at Northeast Texas Community College in Mt.
Pleasant on Saturday. The Ponies lost 11-4. Wharton Junior
College eliminated the Ponies from region competition on
Sunday, winning 8-7 in 11 innings.
More than 100 students graduate from Panola
One hundred
four candidates for graduation participated in Commencement
Exercises at Panola College on Friday, May. 9, in the Arthur
Johnson Gymnasium.
Dr. Jennifer Roberts-Edwards delivered the commencement
address.
Caylee Brady received the Lawrence R. and Debbie H.
Sharp Scholarship, as well as the Phi Theta Kappa
All-American Scholarship.
The Buddy Lowery Awards were
awarded to Kim Edmonson and Christopher Jones.
Brenda Giles was named as the 2008 Panola College
Outstanding Alumna, following in the footsteps of her
mother, Fannie Watson, who was named Outstanding Alumna for
2007.
