Harness to Lead Drawing Course
A Drawing with Bob Harness Class will be offered by the Panola College Workforce and Economic Development department beginning Tuesday, September 23.
Mr. Bob Harness is well known in the community for his skills as a nationally renowned sculptor. His works include the “Spirit of Panola” statue in front of Panola College, the larger than life size bronze statue of Tex Ritter and his horse, White Flash, located in front of the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame, a statue of Martin Luther King for the City of Shreveport, and “Christ on Cross” for St. Mary's Catholic Church of Longview, Texas. What is not as well known is that Mr. Harness is also an award-winning professional and commercial artist with many years of experience sharing his gift with the world.
This eight week course will be offered in both the morning and the evening. The morning class is scheduled from 9:00 am to 11:00 am in the art room of the Raymond Rhea Fine Arts Building. The evening class is schedule from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the art room of the Raymond Rhea Fine Arts Building. The cost is $75.00 per person plus drawing supplies. The classes will be limited to 10 students and are designed for beginners with little or no experience and with a desire to learn.
