Panola ripped by 16-4
The Panola Watchman
 2/20/08

Matt Holland and relievers Branden Powell and Travis Reagan were pummeled for 15 hits and nine earned runs before Kory Cleveland was summoned late in the game and finally got Crowder corralled.
By then, however, the bombers from Neosho, MO, had wrapped up a 16-4 non-conference win to snap a two-game losing streak in a three-game road trip. One was cancelled by inclement weather.
Holland started and quickly fell behind 2-0, dogged by two unearned runs. When he gave up five more, including a grand slam in the second, Powell came on and was touched for four runs and four hits. Again, faulty Panola fielding worked against the Ponies' hurlers and only two makers were untainted.
Reagan threw for three innings, allowed four runs, two earned and yielded four hits.
So confident were Roughrider batters that they took just one walk in the course of the game.
Cleveland used three pitches to end a Crowder rally in the sixth and in the seventh retired three of four, allowing a harmless double.
Bobby Loveless belted a two-run single in the first and a solo homer in the third to drive in three runs and raise his average to .308 in four at bats.
Brandon Choate has a hit and the other RBI.
Jonathan Baker, Coby Rogers, Brandon Wilkerson, Chase Weir, and Derrick Coleman each had one hit.
