The Panola College Tae Kwon Do class will hold a rank testing on Wednesday, September 21 at 12:00 noon in the Ballroom of the Student Center. During this time students will display the skills they have learned in self defense, forms, and sparring. This is an open test, and the public is welcome to attend.

“We will have a couple of very special guests in attendance at this competition,” said Professor John McClain. “The first is Master Sam Phrumjuntun, a 6th degree master instructor from Longview. Master Phrumjuntun is the American Tae Kwon Do Association's (ATA) Regional Director for the State of Texas. He is a former World Champion and has been ranked in the top 10 on many occasions. He also serves as a judge at national and world tournaments. It is quite an honor to have someone of Master Phrumjuntun's credentials to judge our students for their new belts.”

“Mr. Larry Hitt, 4th degree black belt from Hallsville, will also be assisting in the evaluations. He has been a Texas State Champion for the last 2 years and was ranked 2nd in the world at the end of last year's ATA World Championship Tournament,” commented McClain. “This will be an exciting time for the students, and I hope that the community will take time to come out and watch.”
