WebCT - WebCT has become a leader in providing e-Learning solutions for higher education. Panola College is using WebCT as the course management tool for developing online courses or components of face-to-face courses. WebCT is a tool for facilitating student interaction through email, discussion postings, assignment posting, calendar, exams, and much more.

DL Faculty Handbook - It is the goal of this handbook to facilitate a smooth entrance into online teaching by outlining processes and procedures for creating and facilitating your course. (Handbook is a "work in progress" and is updated regularly.)

Principles of Good Practice in Online Education - Practical, down-to-earth suggestions for implementing the Principles of Good Practice into your online course.

The Faculty Room - DO-IT Prof is a project supported by the U.S. Department of Education and managed by the DO-IT program at the University of Washington. It's goal is to maximize the success of students with disabilities in postsecondary education and, ultimately, careers. It provides resources that help postsecondary faculty and administrators more fully include qualified students with disabilities in their academic offerings.

Faculty Guide to ITV Classrooms

ITV Class Facilitator Packet - This packet is available for all ITV facilitators to explain Panola College expectations, provide contact information, and other instruction. Facilitators are required to sign and return the Facilitator Contract included in the packet. Questions regarding the Packet should be directed to Ann Morris.

ITV Student Handbook - This three-page handbook explains to students how the ITV environment is different from the traditional classroom and provides general guidelines to assist the student. ITV facilitators at remote locations are to download the handbook for their students. For comments or suggestions regarding the handbook, please contact Ann Morris.

Virtual College of Texas - The Virtual College of Texas (VCT) is a collaborative of Texas' fifty community college districts and the Texas State Technical College System. Through VCT, students may register at Panola College and take online courses taught by other colleges throughout Texas. This occurs if Panola College cannot provide the course, and a fee is charged to the student. Panola College distance learning courses are opened to students registered at other Texas colleges at the discretion of the individual instructors. To list your distance learning course in the VCT catalog, fill out this form. You must do this for each semester you wish to offer your course.

M. P. Baker Library Distance Learning Policy - It is the policy of the M. P. Baker Library to provide access services for all of its patrons. However, as the role of the traditional college student evolves due to the technological advancements of society, the library will implement services to better serve students participating in distance learning classes.

Starlink Training - As an agency of the Texas Association of Community Colleges, STARLINK offers cost-effective, high quality, and dynamic learning opportunities to educational institutions, state agencies, and other public institutions. Panola College is a participating member of STARLINK.

Interactive Copyright Primer - The © Primer is an introduction to issues concerning copyright ownership and use of information. The interactive tutorial overviews the underlying principles behind copyright in the United States, outlines the requirements for copyright protection as well as discusses the parameters of use and access of copyrighted material.

The Teach Act - Copyright law provides educators with a separate set of rights in addition to fair use, to display (show) and perform (show or play) others' works in the classroom. A handy check list is included.

Plagiarism - There is help out there in recognizing and combating plagiarism in the classroom.
