LVN to RN Transition 1. Vocational nurses must meet the same admission requirements as other students applying for admission to the program. 2. LVNs admitted to ADN must hold a current license to practice in Texas or a state with reciprocity to Texas. 3. LVNs admitted to ADN may challenge the first two nursing courses: RNSG 1205 Skills and RNSG 1201 Pharmacology and then progress in the program. Click on: Procedure for Challenge The LVN to Associate Degree Nursing Transition is designed to facilitate educational mobility for those licensed vocational nurses who wish to earn the AAS degree in nursing to be eligible for the state exam for the registered nurse (NCLEX-RN).
