POSITION TITLE:

Director of Choirs and Instructor of Vocal Music

LOCATION:
Panola College, Carthage, Texas
BEGINNING DATE:

EMPLOYMENT TERM:
Full-time, 10 month position
RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position reports to the Division Director of Liberal & Fine Arts and will teach music courses and conduct private lessons during the fall and spring semesters. This position is responsible for the recruiting and directing of the college choir as well as the select vocal group, Panola Pipers, and for preparing and conducting concerts in both fall and spring semesters. In addition to the above mentioned responsibilities, this position will also be required to serve on committees as assigned. Work with a flexible schedule, including evening and Internet classes as needed. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Choral Music or related field. Teaching experience at the college level preferred. Teaching experience using WebCT a plus. Must have strong communication skills, ability to work effectively with students, faculty and staff. Must have a commitment to the philosophy of the fine arts program.

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:
The salary offered will be commensurate with educational background and work experience. Group Health and Life Insurance, Educational Retirement, Social Security, Optional – Disability, Additional Life, AD&D, and Dental Insurance. 90-day waiting period.
