The Office of Institutional Advancement emails press releases on a regular and as-needed basis. Please email your press release to the Office of Institutional Advancement at least three weeks prior to your planned event. Remember to include “who, what, when, where and why” information in your press release. After the press release has been reviewed and any corrections or changes made, the press release will be forwarded to area media outlets.
All faculty membersare required to have their press releases reviewed by the Vice President of Instruction prior to submitting material to the Office of Institutional Advancement.

STUDENTS WHO START AT PANOLA EXCEL
Recently Dr. Trauth, President of Southwest Texas State University (SWT), sent Dr. Gregory Powell, President of Panola College, a report regarding students who transferred to SWT in the fall of 2001.
Dr. Trauth reported that Panola College transfers, after one year at SWT, earned an average of 28 semester credit hours with a 3.10 GPA. This exceeds the figures for all 2-year college student transfers who earned an average of 20 semester credit hours with a 2.56 GPA.
“The report from SWT is further confirmation of the outstanding education provided at Panola College. The passion we have for educational excellence is evident in the successes of our students,” said Dr. Powell.
