Panola Volleyball is proud to announce that three student-athletes from this year’s sophomore class signed a National Letter of Intent to continue their education and playing careers at universities this fall.
Ana Kiso will be attending Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, TX on a full volleyball scholarship. The sophomore setter from Belgrade, Serbia was a consistent contributor for the Fillies this season, leading the Fillies with 969 assists and picking up 13 double-doubles along the way. Her efforts earned her All-Conference Honorable Mention honors for Region XIV- North. Kiso posted her career high in assists with 57 against NJCAA DII National Champs Cowley County. Kiso has also maintained a high academic standard in her time at Panola College, earning a 3.69 GPA and a spot on the 2014 Region XIV All-Academic Team. Ana will continue her career as a PVAMU Lady Panther under the direction of Head Coach Alicia Pete. Prairie View is a NCAA Division I institution competing in the Southwest Athletic Conference (SWAC).
J’Keisha Evans signed to attend Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX. The sophomore outside hitter from Longview, TX made her presence known in her sophomore year by becoming a shut-down blocker and a go-to hitter in key situations for the Fillies. Evans averaged 2.29 kills per set, and had double-digit kills in 12 matches this season. She was also a dominant blocking force on the outside, averaging .55 blocks per set. She set her season high of 16 kills in a thrilling 4-game match against Vernon College. Her efforts also earned her All-Conference Honorable Mention honors for Region XIV- North. J’Keisha will be competing as a SFA Ladyjack under long-time Head Coach Debbie Humphreys. Stephen F. Austin is a NCAA Division I institution competing in the Southland Conference.
Haley Hampton has signed to continue her volleyball career and education at Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN. After spending her freshman season as an outside hitter, Hampton quickly transitioned to become a dominant middle blocker in 2013. Hampton was the lone Fillie selected to the 1st Team All-Conference list for her efforts this past season and was also chosen to represent Region XIV-North as an NJCAA All-American Nominee. She was second on the team in kills with 2.59 per set and third in blocks with 0.82 per set. She also notched double-digit kills in 13 matches this season. During the 5-game loss to top-ranked Blinn at the Regional Tournament, Hampton helped lead the Fillies with 10 kills on 22 swings for a .409 hitting efficiency. Haley’s accomplishments also extend past the court as earlier this week she was named to the Region XIV All-Academic Team with a 3.33 GPA. Haley will be competing as a Tennessee State Lady Tiger under Head Coach Kathy Roulhac. Tennessee State is a NCAA Division I institution competing in the Ohio Valley Conference.
All three student-athletes have performed numerous hours of community service, and exemplified hard work and dedication on and off the court. For a majority of the season they served as tri-captains for the Fillies, and their leadership was a key factor in the success that this young team had this year.
The Panola Volleyball program, Panola College staff and administration is extremely proud of these young ladies and wish them nothing but the best at the next level.
