Gas Compressor donated to Panola College

Compressor Systems Inc. (CSI) has awarded Panola College School of Energy an Ariel JGM2 compressor for hands-on training by students, according to Mr. Rusty Downey, Chair, Gas Compressor Association Education Committee.

Mr. Downey said, “It was a tough call as the entire Gas Compressor Association (GCA) partner colleges are worthy and could put it to good use.  We are confident that this compressor will be a great addition to the teaching tools at Panola and will be used to help train future compressor technicians for many years to come.”

CSI formally presented the compressor to the School of Energy.  Attending were  Jeff Levers, Vice President Sales of Compressor Systems Inc.; Mr. Gary Farr, of Cummins, Inc.; Mr. Paul Cosper, Engine Business Manager of HOLT Power Systems, Mr. Larry Aldridge, Sales Representative of HOLT Power Systems, Panola College faculty and staff from the School of Energy and the College Administration.

The Gas Compressor Association (GCA) has been instrumental in assisting a number of regional colleges develop and maintain programs for the training of new mechanics and operators required for the growing gas compression industry. GCA currently provides support to five or more such institutions and encourages them to develop training opportunities that can benefit member companies' current workers.
