Students Start Band While Attending Panola College

While waiting for the third annual Panola College Student Government Association 5K Run to begin, participants were entertained by a local band comprised entirely of Panola College students. The band is named Chasing Stable, and its members include Rachael Sutton, Sydney Gee and Rachel Gee.

Sydney Gee and Rachel Gee are sisters and have been playing stringed instruments for more than nine years. Rachael Sutton is self-taught on guitar. The Band formed when all three girls met in the Panola College Chorale and began to orchestrate original songs in the practice rooms of the Raymond Rhea Fine Arts Building after classes.

The name, Chasing Stable, comes from the idea of a search for stability in life through God, love, and relationships. The Band is currently working on recording their first album, which is expected to be released on iTunes and other music sharing platforms later this summer. Videos and recordings can also be found on YouTube and the Band's Facebook page. The Band plays at secular events and churches. For booking or additional information, please contact chasingstable@yahoo.com, 817-627-7586, or 903-407-7846.

When asked about their time at Panola College, the Band members responded, “We really appreciate all of the support we have received from Panola. Our time here has been a great part of our lives, and we treasure it.”
